RGC (A) Preview

Bridgend Ravens travel North to face RGC for the first ever time at the Zip World Stadium this afternoon (3:00pm).

The only other meeting between the sides was last season at the Morganstone Brewery Field where the visitors triumphed in their first ever game in the Principality Premiership with 3-20. They went on to have a wonderful season, finishing the campaign in Tier 1 and winning the WRU National Cup by beating Pontypridd at the Principality Stadium.

The Gogs currently sit second in the Principality Premiership West standings with four wins, one draw and one defeat in their opening six matches. They beat Carmarthen Quins at Zip World Stadium last time out, with their only slip ups coming against Llandovery and a draw with 14 man Swansea at St Helen’s.

Bridgend go into the game full of confidence after some much improved performances of late. A win over Llanelli was followed by a double bonus point in defeat at Carmarthen Quins. In their last game, they came away with a win against Neath having played 50 minutes with just 14 men. The game in North Wales gives Bridgend the opportunity to continue to climb the standings ahead of the mini British and Irish Cup interval.
