Team to face Cardiff (H)

Bridgend Ravens welcome the old enemy Cardiff to the Morganstone Brewery Field for a Principality Premiership clash under the lights (7:15pm).

Bridgend saw their last game, an away encounter with Bargoed, washed out at the last minute. They've endured a poor run since a sensational victory over Llandovery last month; losing away at Newport and Carmarthen. It's a return to home comforts for Bridgend though, who've played most of their season away from home to date and have won 7 of their last 8 home matches stretching back to last season.

Cardiff have really picked up of late and are arguably the Premiership's form team. Six straight wins against Bargoed, Cross Keys, Bedwas, Llanelli, Aberavon and RGC have propelled the Blue and Blacks to fifth place in the division.

The last time the sides met was in February at the Morganstone Brewery Field. An uncharacteristically poor home performance saw the away side come away victorious by 13pts to 23. There's been a big improvement in the home side since that evening and with stakes so high in this year's division, the Ravens will be keen to give their loyal home faithful another home victory to celebrate.

Matt Silva makes just one change to the starting lineup which was due to play at Bargoed last time out, and that's Stuart Floyd Ellis returning to partner captain Nathan Edwards in the centre. Aside from that, the coaches stick with the same squad; so it's a back three of Cai Evans, Ashley Evans and Mike Powell with Ryan Evans and Chris Williams the half backs.

There's a milestone amongst the squad; it'll be Connor Tantum's fiftieth appearance for Bridgend if he comes off the replacements bench.
