Bridgend Ravens earned a valuable losing bonus point at a damp Eugene Cross Park on Saturday against a strong Ebbw Vale side.
The Ravens headed to Eugene Cross Park to face an in-form Ebbw Vale, looking to continue their own good form following two wins in their opening three fixtures.
Returning to his former club, Wing Will Holley kicked Bridgend into an early lead from the tee, following a good attacking period from the Ravens.
Ebbw Vale struck back as Bridgend couldn't get to grips with the Steelmen's famous driving maul during the first half. The host's Captain Ronny Kynes claiming two tries on the back of Ebbw Vale's forward power.
Shortly before halftime, Holley added a second penalty to narrow the gap between the sides, leaving Bridgend trailing by 8 at the break.

Bridgend upped their performance during the second half, holding Ebbw Vale to just three points throughout the second forty despite two yellow cards during the half, for Tom Morgan and Dafi Davies.
A scintillating score from the Ravens arrived with nearly an hour played. A neat lineout move saw Stuart Floyd-Ellis race clean through the Ebbw Vale defence. The Centre's patience allowed Mikey Kennedy to arrive in support to score Bridgend's first try of the contest. Holley converted to leave a two point difference between the teams.
Will Holley added his third penalty of the match shortly after to give Bridgend the lead with 15 minutes remaining, but despite the immense effort from the Ravens, Rhys Jones kicked a penalty that ultimately secured a single point win for the Hosts.
Bridgend will have been disappointed not to secure a win following a fine second half performance. But continuing to pick up points at every opportunity will keep confidence high in the Ravens camp.
