Bridgend Ravens just missed out on securing a first Principality Premiership tier two victory in a tight encounter at Pandy Park. Stoic Bridgend defending coupled with opportunistic scores saw Bridgend on level terms heading into the final 10 minutes.

Josh Prosser kicked Cross Keys into an early lead before Joseph Scrivens levelled at the 10 minute mark. Keys Fullback Prosser was on target again heading into the second quarter, landing a second penalty before Bridgend struck for the game's opening try.

A penalty kicked to the Cross Keys 22 set the Ravens up for their best attacking opportunity of the half. Keiron Jenkins gathered the lineout and burst up to the Keys 22. Supporters Man of the Match Tom Morgan broke through racing into the 22, and the flankers soft hands found Will Baird in support to score. Joseph Scrivens slotted the conversion for a slender 6 point lead.

With 40 minutes on the clock, Scrivens added a second penalty of his own to give the Ravens a seven point cushion at halftime.

Despite their incredible defensive effort throughout the second half, Bridgend were unable to keep Keys out and hold on to secure the victory.

With Iestyn Merriman shown a yellow card just five minutes into the second half, Cross Keys pressed for their first try, attempting to drive a scrum over the line. A solid 7 man scrum from Bridgend forced Ieuan Jones to pick up from the base and the Number 8 had the power to drive over the line. Prosser’s conversion levelled the scores with 10 minutes played in the second half.

With Bridgend failing to add to their tally in the second half, Keys full back Josh Prosser struck his third penalty, edging the hosts ahead with 10 minutes left to play. Bridgend threw everything at a winning score late on but were unable to get what they needed and had to settle for a losing bonus point.
