Bridgend Ravens can confirm that Mike Morgan has joined the backroom team ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Mike takes up the role as Attack Coach and joins the staff after the departure of Nicky Roberts, who has since taken the role as Backs Coach at Swansea RFC. An experienced coach, Morgan is currently employed by the Welsh Rugby Union as Coach Development Resource Manager.

Morgan’s coaching career has spanned 17 years and has already worked with Ravens’ Head Coach, Matt Silva. His previous roles include six years at Rumney RFC and Head Coach at Cardiff Blues Regional Age Grade. He has also coached at youth level and throughout Wales’ lower leagues so brings an invaluable depth of knowledge to the coaching team.

Matt Silva was delighted to add Morgan to his coaching team. ‘I’m really looking forward to linking up with Mike again having worked with him at Rumney and at the Cardiff Blues U16.

He is an excellent addition to the coaching group at Bridgend and is a very good technical coach. He will be an extremely valuable member of our team.’

Morgan commented ‘It’s a very exciting opportunity to join such a great club as Bridgend.I am honoured to take the role as attack coach with such a strong squad and management team and am eager to start what is set to be a great season.’
