Bridgend Ravens were knocked out of the WRU National Cup on Tuesday, but this week’s emphasis has been on bouncing back ahead of Saturday’s clash with the same opponents.
A dazzling first half display from the Steelmen saw them cross for four unanswered tries to effectively seal their place in the quarter finals. Bridgend dug deep in the second half to pull back two tries of their own in what was a hugely disappointing evening overall.
With all attentions now on the league campaign, Team Manager Ed Griffith commented -
'As a group we are smarting from Tuesday's poor first half performance. Although we improved in the second half the damage had already been done.
I’m not taking anything away from Ebbw Vale's performance who impressed, we were simply not at the races for long periods and it is probably the worst I have seen us play since I have been involved with the club.
We are fortunate we haven't got long to wait for us try to and put things right with a re-match with Ebbw on Saturday in the League programme.
As a collective group of players and coaches we need to take responsibility. The focus leading into Saturday’s game will be on some honesty and self reflection as a group.’
Saturday’s Principality Premiership game kicks off at 2:30pm at the Morganstone Brewery Field. Admission is £10 for Adults, £8 for Concessions with Under 16s admitted free of charge.
