Archer Evans becomes Raven

By Aled Thomas | 01/06/2018

Bridgend Ravens are delighted to confirm the signing of highly rated Cardiff Metropolitan University RFC captain, Aled Evans.

Primarily a back rower, 6’ 3” Evans, 21, joins up with Bridgend from the Archers in time for pre season.

Evans' career started at Pontypridd where he played his junior rugby, before moving onto the age grade system with Cardiff Blues at the age of 16. Aled was named as captain of the u16 and u18 age grade sides, along with the same role at Coleg y Cymoedd.

He made the move to Cardiff Metropolitan University to further his development along with his education and has appeared at Championship level and in the BUCS Super Cup for the Archers. Higher honours were to follow, and Evans trained with the Wales u20 squad as part of their preparation for the Junior World Cup in 2017. He was named club captain at the start of the 17/18 season and led the Met to their first BUCS Super Rugby Final in five years.

On joining the Ravens, Aled commented 'I'm delighted to make the step up to Premiership level with Bridgend. I'm looking forward to developing myself as a player and testing myself against good players within the Premiership.'
