22 Nov Team to face Carmarthen (A)
Bridgend Ravens head west for their first of two consecutive away games, this time against Carmarthen Quins at Carmarthen Park on Saturday (2:30pm).
The Quins picked up an impressive win against Ebbw Vale at Eugene Cross Park last weekend. They were always in control of the game and staved off a late Steelmen fightback to win 26pts to 20. They have four wins from their opening six games and currently occupy sixth position in the early league standings.
Bridgend are looking to pick up some form after a run of demoralising defeats. They’ve lost four on the bounce; Llandovery, Pontypridd, Newport and Cardiff have all put Bridgend to the sword but there were plenty of promising signs in last weekend’s home reverse to the all conquering Cardiff. The Ravens are hampered with a long injury list, but opportunity has been given to a number of promising youngsters who’ve all stood up to the challenge admirably.
Last season, it was a tale of two matches as both sides won their own home game. At Carmarthen Park, the Quins stormed to a 40pts to 6 success, with the Ravens only points coming from the boot of Will Holley who kicked two penalties.
It was a different story at the Morganstone Brewery Field, as Bridgend Ravens turned the tide to earn four massive points in their battle against relegation as Owen Howe’s boot kicked them to an 18pts to 12 success on his second debut for the club, after returning on loan cheapest legal way to buy klonopin from Swansea.
There are a few changes to the lineup which started against Cardiff last time out. Jamie Murphy continues at full back in a back three with Dewi Cross and the returning Mike Powell. There’s a first Bridgend Ravens start for Brad Roderick in midfield alongside Stuart Floyd Ellis. The Ospreys youngster has impressed in his early days with the club and has been given his chance to shine alongside last week’s try scorer Floyd Ellis. Jacob Chilcott and Chris Williams, who captains the side in the absence of Nathan Edwards, continue at half back.
Last week’s star man Travis Huntley lines up at 6 in a back row with Joseph Grabham and debutant Morgan Strong, son of former Raven Nathan, at No8. James Little and Ben Jones pair up in the second row and it’s the same again in the front row with Owen Jordan, Gareth Harvey and Cai Lewis selected.
