14 Mar WRU SUSPENDS COMMUNITY GAME UNTIL MARCH 30
The Welsh Rugby Union Community Board has informed clubs of their decision to suspend all matches, including training sessions, until 30th March 2020 in light of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The suspension will see our games against RGC at Stadiwm Zip World next Saturday and our game against Ebbw Vale at the Morganstone Brewery Field the following Saturday suspended.
The decision to suspend rugby activity at Community level will be reviewed on the 30th March by the Welsh Rugby Community Board.
The Welsh Rugby Union, in a statement to all clubs, said that the decision was made in the best interest of players, supporters, volunteers, referees, stakeholders and Welsh communities in general.
Following the decision of the WRU Community Board, Bridgend Ravens Secretary Tony Williams commented ‘We welcome the decision made by the Welsh Rugby Union’s Community Board in light of the recent COVID 19 outbreak. Our priority is the well being of all of our members, supporters, players, back room staff and officials during this time.
We urge everybody to follow the advice and guidance set by the World Health Organisation. As soon as we have any further information from the Welsh Rugby Union, we will inform everybody accordingly.’
