11 Jul Iorwerth-Scott joins Bridgend Ravens

Having featured for Bridgend Ravens on permit at the tail end of last season, powerful tighthead prop Matholwch Iorwerth Scott has penned terms to join the club permanently ahead of 2023/24.

Matholwch made an impressive debut from the replacements bench in an away victory at Parc y Scarlets before putting in another commanding performance against Swansea at the Dunraven Brewery Field on the final day of last season. He joins from Cardiff Met and will bolster Bridgend’s options at tighthead with Liam Tobias and Curtis Hicks also committed for the new season.

The Crymych product was pleased to join up permanently with Tom Smith’s side “After spending the last few seasons at Cardiff Met I’ve been able to develop my game and it’s been a great experience. I was very pleased that Tom approached me last season and I’m really excited for the coming season. 

We’ve got a good group this year, both players and coaches. I enjoyed playing a couple of games last year and I’m looking forward to playing for a club that’s rich in rugby history. It’s a tough league but I believe we can improve on last year’s result. It’s a good environment to be in, and it’ll be an exciting season with planned changes to the league structure.”
