Bridgend exited the Premiership Cup at the Quarter final stage, falling to Swansea at St Helen’s on Saturday afternoon.

Swansea raced into a 20 point lead with just 15 minutes in the clock, a lead that Bridgend couldn’t claw back.

Rhys Jones kicked two early penalties for the hosts before Swansea struck for two tries. A maul try finished by Jamie Cox followed by a Morgan Morse breakaway score. Jones landed both conversions.

Bridgend worked hard to get back into the game finally sealing an opening score as Harry Olding powered over.

Paul Short landed a late penalty to leave the Ravens trailing by 12 at halftime.

Paul Short narrowed the deficit to 9 with an early second half penalty before Swansea struck for a victory clincher at the hour mark, Cameron Jones finishing another breakaway score. Rhys Jones converted.

Bridgend struck for a consolation try with time up. The Ravens hammered the Swansea line, seeing two yellow cards for back rowers Callum Bowden and Lloyd Evans. Replacement Jakob Williams touched down out wide as Bridgend hammered away at the Swansea line late on.

Attentions turn back to league action as Bridgend face a short turnaround facing Newport in front of the S4C Clic cameras on Thursday evening.
