13 Feb Team to face Ebbw at the Brewery

Bridgend Ravens welcome Ebbw Vale to the Electric Brewery Field for a third round Super Rygbi Cymru Cup tie on Saturday (2:30pm).

Bridgend have one win from their two games so far and currently sit in third place in the Pool B standings, occupying the first Plate Knockout Place. The Ravens won their MD1 match against Aberavon 15-14 at the Electric Brewery Field.

Ebbw Vale belatedly kicked off their cup campaign last weekend with a narrow 31pts to 25 win against Aberavon, played at Merthyr’s The Wern.

The sides have met twice already this season with Ebbw winning both matches. It was a 17pts to 34 win at the Brewery and a 47pts to 15 win at Eugene Cross Park for Jason Strange’s side, with Ebbw’s forward power ultimately seeing them home in both ties.

For Saturday’s match, Baldwin sticks largely with the squad he’s selected for cup matches to date. Fraser Jones continues at 15 with Gabe Lacey, who has two tries in two cup matches on the wing, and Jake Thomas, back from injury on the other. Tom Florence appears from the Ospreys at 13 with Ben Burnell at 12. Lloyd Wilkins and Harvey Nash are the half backs.

Harry and Tyler Olding partner Nathan Evans in the front row. Evan Hill and Barnaby Waddell continue in the second row and it’s a changed back row with Alfie Thomas moving to 7, Ethan Evans playing 6 and Tom Jevons at 8.
