17 May BRIDGEND COLLEGE FURTHER RAVENS LINK UP!
Bridgend Ravens are delighted to announce that Bridgend College will continue as a commercial partner of the club for the 2021/22 season.
Bridgend College, currently home to approximately 6,000 full and part time students as well as over 600 staff, is an established further education college based in Bridgend. It was founded in 1928 as the Bridgend Mining and Technical Institute. The college has four campuses in Bridgend, Pencoed, Queens Road and Maesteg.
The new agreement will see the Bridgend College logo feature on the right sleeve of both the Bridgend Ravens home and new alternate jersey, a design inspired by the jersey worn when Bridgend beat Western Samoa 21-17 at a rain-soaked Brewery Field in 1989.
As part of the partnership, Bridgend Ravens will once again be utilising the training facilities at the Pencoed Campus, that have helped develop such players as former Ravens; Rhys Webb, Owen Watkin, Lloyd Ashley, Matthew Morgan, Tom Habberfield, Scott Baldwin and Luke Morgan to name a few, as well as current squad members Nathan Edwards, Jamie Murphy and Gareth Harvey.
Bridgend Ravens Commercial Manager, Craig Thomas, was delighted to confirm Bridgend College’s commitment to the club, commenting, “Both organisations are key parts of the Bridgend community, and it makes perfect sense to work together to help develop local talent and give them the platforms they need to fulfil their potential. Bridgend College has achieved a number of outstanding awards over the years, and here at Bridgend Ravens, we are also striving for similar results both on and off the field.”
Matt Rees, Head of Curriculum for Sport at Bridgend College said, “At Bridgend College, we are committed to providing the very best educational experience for each of our learners and helping them to be all that they can be. We are excited to be working with Bridgend Ravens this season. This collaboration provides even more experiences and opportunities for our learners to achieve their goals by connecting them with a local and well-established club.”
The new 2021/22 Bridgend Ravens jersey will be revealed online, via this website and our social media channels on Friday.
