Cardiff Rugby hooker, Tom Howe finished from a catch-and-drive following sustained pressure in the Bridgend 22.

Cardiff doubled their advantage midway through the first half when cCraig Hudd crossed for their second try.

The Ravens continued to battle against the elements, but Cardiff’s set-piece pressure proved difficult to contain. Howe crossed for his second try before the interval, with Lucas adding the conversion to give the hosts a 17-0 half-time lead.

The Ravens looked to respond after the break and worked to keep Cardiff at bay, with the third quarter passing without a score.

However, it was Cardiff who ended the game as a contest midway through the second half when Howe completed his hat-trick. Lucas added the extras to make it 24-0.

Bridgend were reduced to 14 players when replacement Morgan Boobyer received a yellow card, and Cardiff took advantage of the numerical advantage in the closing stages.

Replacement Ethan Coombes crossed for the hosts’ fifth try in the final minutes, with Lucas converting to complete the scoring.
