RAVENS RARING TO GO AS INDIGO PREMIERSHIP CUP FIXTURES ANNOUNCED

Bridgend Ravens will compete in the West Conference of the Indigo Premiership Cup, starting in September.

The Ravens will face Aberavon, Swansea, Llanelli, Llandovery and Carmarthen Quins on a home and away basis with the top two sides progressing to a knockout competition. The top two sides from each group will progress to the knockout stages. The winner from West will then host the runners-up from East in one semi-final while in the other semi-final the winner of East will host the runner-up of West. The date and venue of the final are TBC.

It’s hoped that in line with Welsh Government guidance and an improving public health situation that Indigo Premiership League rugby can start in January. Full information will be available on this in due course.

Following a run of three pre-season games against Maesteg Quins, Llanelli and Newport, competitive action for Steve Jones’ side gets underway with a home tie against Carmarthen Quins at the Brewery Field on September 18th. Ironically, Bridgend’s last competitive game, way back in March 2020 was against Carmarthen Quins at the Brewery Field.

Following that tie, it’s a trip to Llanelli before a derby match at home against Aberavon. The group stage action is wrapped up with a trip to St Helen’s – where Bridgend will face Swansea on the November 27th.
