Bridgend Ravens host Aberavon at the Dunraven Brewery Field on Saturday afternoon in their second group game of the Indigo Premiership Cup (2:30pm).
Each team in Pool B will face each other once on a home or away basis, with the top side qualifying for the semi finals to be played in 2023. The Ravens were victorious in their first group match in mid September, when they beat Pontypridd by 30pts to 26 at Sardis Road.
Aberavon come into the game in red hot form, having won all six of their Indigo Premiership fixtures with bonus points to date. Jason Hyatt’s men have firmly put the disappointment of the defeat in last season’s Cup Final against Newport behind them by storming to the summit of the Premiership in the opening weeks this season. Last time out, they won a closely contested home tie against Merthyr by 39pts to 32 at Talbot Athletic Ground.
Bridgend kick started their league season with an impressive win over Ebbw Vale at the Dunraven Brewery Field last night, scoring 5 tries in a bonus point victory. Following that success up with victory on Saturday would book the Ravens’ place in the semi finals of the cup but they know it’ll be an extremely tall order against the in form Wizards.
