03 Mar Team to face RGC at the Brewery

There’s another home game this Saturday for Bridgend Ravens as they look to continue their improved post-Christmas run of results when RGC visit the Dunraven Brewery Field (2:30pm). 

Bridgend have won three consecutive home games since the turn of the year and four out of six games since Christmas. That form has seen them move up the Indigo Premiership standings to eighth place with three games in hand on some of the teams around them in the standings. The Ravens’ latest win was against Llanelli on Friday evening by 45pts to 17, with Tom Smith’s side crossing for seven tries in a comfortable victory.

RGC come to Bridgend 6th in the league and won the reverse fixtures by 27pts to 13 earlier this season at Parc Eirias. Their last match saw them lose a tight fought home tie with Llandovery by 25pts to 24.

The corresponding fixture went Bridgend’s way last season as the home side came out on top in a 20pts to 8 win. The Ravens scored tries through Rhydian Jenkins, Cameron Ellis and Joseph Gatt with Ospreys’ Harri Deaves putting in a starring Man of the Match performance.

There’s a landmark appearance amongst the Bridgend lineup again this weekend with Jack Pope making his 100th club appearance.
