19 Apr Team to face Merthyr at Dunraven Brewery Field

Bridgend Ravens Head Coach, Tom Smith, has named his side to face Merthyr at the Dunraven Brewery Field on Saturday (2:30pm).

There’s a milestone appearance in Saturday’s match day squad as scrum half Connor Tantum is selected to start at scrum half and makes his 100th appearance for the club.

Connor is joined in the backline by Bridgend’s top try scorer this campaign, Edd Howley, Corum Nott, who bagged two tries last week and Cameron Ellis. Joseph Gatt continues in midfield alongside Tommy Morgan. There’s some welcome news as Luke Price returns from injury to start at outside half. Tantum wears the 9 jersey.

Phil Price, Gareth Harvey and Liam Tobias make up the front row. Harvey is selected to lead the team on Saturday, an appearance which marks his final home match for the club following 130 games and 6 seasons with the Ravens. Dylan Burrows and Ben Thomas are paired in the second row. There are changes to the back row, with Alfie Llewellyn moving to 8 and Dafi Davies operating at open side. Jack Pope makes the switch to blindside flanker.

Bridgend Ravens fans will be pleased to see the return of Ben Jones on permit from Kenfig Hill amongst the replacements, where there’s also a potential debut for second row Barnaby Waddell who features on permit from Cardiff Met.
