23 Aug Team to face Plymouth at Dunraven Brewery Field

Bridgend Ravens welcome Plymouth Albion to the Dunraven Brewery Field this Saturday for their second pre-season friendly.

Bridgend started their on-field pre-season campaign last weekend with a comfortable victory over English National League 2 side Bournville by 55pts to 15. Scott Baldwin was able to give game time to 25 of his squad during the match as Bridgend crossed for nine tries in a comfortable win at Avery Fields.

This weekend’s match promises to provide a tougher challenge as National League 1 side Plymouth Albion make the long trip to South Wales. The Brickfields Recreational Ground based have already played two pre-season friendlies to date, beating Camborne 52pts 12 at home, following a 38pts to 5 win over Development Services.

For Saturday’s game, Baldwin names a 30 man squad with the aim of giving as much game time to his players as possible. There are debuts for new signings Ben Burnell and Harvey Nash amongst the backline, and plenty of fresh faces on the replacements bench including hooker Dafydd Evans (Bryncethin) who featured last weekend and tighthead prop Kamren Harris (Treorchy).
