09 Jul LACEY THE LATEST TO JOIN BRIDGEND RAVENS
Bridgend Ravens are delighted to confirm that three quarter Gabe Lacey has joined the club on a permanent basis ahead of the new Super Rygbi Cymru season.
Having appeared three times last season, Lacey, a Porthcawl RFC product, is a former Bristol Bears U18 player who has also featured for Aberavon in the Premiership. He has also played for Wales U18 and U20 and will be looking to cement his place in the Ravens matchday squad this season.
Equally at home in the centre as he is on the wing, 6’ 2” Lacey will add a physical presence and adds depth to a strengthened Bridgend back division.
On joining Bridgend, the 20 year old said, “Happy and excited to sign with Bridgend and looking forward to building and working hard into the new season with a great group of boys. Looking forward to seeing what I can bring personally to the team and what the team can achieve this year.”
Bridgend Ravens Head Coach Scott Baldwin was delighted to see Lacey put pen to paper, and is looking forward to working with him.
“Despite his tender years, he’s quite experienced having played at Bristol Bears, Aberavon in the Premiership as well as spending time at the academy at Dragons RFC. We are looking forward to Gabe making a real impact next season and we look forward to him showing the potential that he clearly has. He’s quick, physical and is a very skilful player who we think supporters will enjoy watching.”
“Gabe joining on a permanent deal is great news for the club, and adds to the likes of Harvey Nash, Ben Burnell, Ryan Wilkins and Mccauley Rowley who have so far joined to add depth to our backline ahead of what is sure to be an exciting new season.”
