Bridgend Ravens head to the capital for a Super Rygbi Cymru clash with top of the table Cardiff on Saturday (4:15pm). 

The tie kicks off at the later time of 4:15pm as it features as part of a double header with Cardiff Rugby taking on Ulster later in the evening.

Bridgend had won three straight matches until last weekend’s home defeat to Ebbw Vale by 34pts to 16. They’re currently fifth in the early SRC Standings and know they’ll need to be better against a powerful Cardiff side, boasting some regional talent including Welsh international Mackenzie Martin.

The Arms Park side have started the season in great form and have five wins from 6 games so far. The latest win was a comfortable home victory over Aberavon by 31pts to 14 last weekend. Their only defeat to date was a 31pts to 19 defeat at Carmarthen Park, a defeat which they swiftly avenged a week later by thumping the same opponents 50-0 at the Arms Park.

Cardiff won both of last season’s games between the sides, including a 38pts to 23 win at the Arms Park. Bridgend have history against them, having not won a game against the Blue and Blacks at the Arms Park since January 2017 in a Fosters Challenge Cup success by 24pts to 15.

There’s a reshuffle to the squad this weekend as Baldwin rotates his lineup. Jake Thomas and Corum Nott start on the wings and McCauley Rowley moves to midfield to partner Ryan Wilkins.

The changes in the back are Travis Huntley selected in the second row and Alfie Llewellyn return to the back row.
