Bridgend Ravens are back at home this weekend when Super Rygbi Cymru high fliers Ebbw Vale visit the Dunraven Brewery Field (2:30pm).

Scott Baldwin’s side have 3 wins from their opening 5 SRC matches, including last weekend’s epic 29pts to 28 win at Talbot Athletic Ground. This followed back to back wins against Swansea with Bridgend sitting in 4th place in the early season standings.

It’s been another great start to the season for Ebbw Vale. They have four wins from their opening five games – with their only defeat coming away at table topping Cardiff. Amongst their early season successes are two wins against Llandovery, including a victory at Church Bank in which the Steelmen were able to claim the SRC Shield, a title which they successfully defended against RGC at Eugene Cross Park last weekend.

Last season’s corresponding fixture went the way of Ebbw Vale by 36pts to 13. Bridgend had led that game going into half time, but Jason Strange’s men powered to a comfortable bonus point win with a powerful forwards dominated second half display. You don’t have to go far back for Bridgend’s last home win against Ebbw though, that came during the previous season when the home side came away 29pts to 27 victors.

Bridgend are without their regular centre Tom Florence for this match with the youngster selected for.regional duty. Ryan Wilkins takes his place in midfield and there’s a return for wing McCauley Rowley who missed out last weekend with a minor injury. Elsewhere in the backline, Howley, Greenhall, Burnell and Nash are all retained from the side which beat Aberavon.

There’s just one change to the pack which sees Jordan Collier come in at 6 for Alfie Llewellyn, who moves to the bench.
