The Annual General Meeting of Clwb Rygbi Penybont ar Ogwr will take place on Monday 15th June 2026 at 7pm at the Electric Brewery Field. 

Ahead of the meeting, Club Chairman, Norman Spain has provided the following update, including confirmation of his intention to step down from his role at the end of the season.

To All Members,

With the conclusion of the 2025/2026 season, attention is now drawn to the AGM that is set for Monday 15th June 2026 at 7pm.

As you may recall at the last AGM, I mentioned it was time to start looking for a new Chairman and I have formally informed the Board of Directors, giving notice that I will be standing down as Chairman and Director of Bridgend Ravens and Director / Trustee of Clwb Rygbi Pen y Bont ar Ogwr at the end of this term.

This will bring to an end 30 years of continued service to the club in a formal capacity that started as Youth Coach in 1996, leading on to Team Manager of the Ravens followed by the Secretary and Chairman roles.

In the meantime, there is still much to do and I will continue to support and help drive through the projects that are ongoing.

Part of the function of the AGM is to confirm or appoint the Chairman and Secretary of Bridgend Ravens Rugby Club and I would like to propose that our current Secretary, Tony Williams, be considered as the new Chairman. Tony is instrumental in all things that happen at the club, has an excellent working knowledge and the peculiarities of what is required to manage the Ravens and an excellent candidate for the post that I hope the AGM will support.

In the eventuality that Tony is selected, then a replacement Secretary will also be needed.

The future of the Ravens and Brewery Field is promising, however, there is an urgent need for additional volunteers to fill positions that are identified as essential to the successful management of the Ravens going forward.

Therefore, a recruitment campaign will get underway advertising the positions listed below and should any member wish to have more information, please get in touch, rather than wait for the AGM.

  • Grants and Project Coordinator

Thank you for your support. It has been a privilege to be involved with such a proud Club over the years, and I look forward to seeing those of you who will be attending the AGM and not forgetting the Presentation Night on the following Friday 19th June.
