Bridgend Ravens endured another evening to forget as Llandovery came away with all six points from Thursday’s Super Rygbi Cymru clash at Church Bank.

The Ravens once again left themselves too much to do, trailing 28pts to 5 at the interval. A red card for Marc Thomas midway the second half didn’t help proceedings as Bridgend faced a second consecutive defeat on the road.

Scrum half George MacDonald was the first to cross for Llandovery after just four minutes. The young scrum half was on the end of wing Kian Abraham’s kick through to score. Ioan Hughes converted.

It got worse for Bridgend when Tomi Lewis scored the home sides second soon after. Ben Evans misjudged a kick through and the Scarlets flier was on hand to dot down for a converted score.

It took 20 minutes for Bridgend to get going and Thomas Jevons scored from the back of a driving maul. Ben Burnell pulled the conversion

Bridgend felt they were back in it and when Llandovery hooker Cameron Lewis was binned minutes later, a comeback looked on.

It wasn’t to be though, as the Drovers stepped it up a gear. McCauley Rowley fumbled a long kick for Tiaan Sparrow to score, and then Finn Thomas compounded Bridgend’s misery with a try just before the break.

Bridgend got off to the perfect start in the second half. Some loose hands by the Llandovery backs allowed Edd Howley to football his way over the line for a try converted by Burnell.

Any hopes of a comeback were quashed again after Ben Evans was sent to the sin bin for a tackle in the air. The Llandovery didn’t take long to cross again through Kian Abraham.

The game was effectively over as a contest and with 20 minutes to go, when Bridgend prop Marc Thomas was given a red card.

Bridgend, now a man down, continued to apply the pressure and were rewarded with a last minute try from replacement Lloyd Wilkins. Burnell’s drop goaled conversion went wide as Bridgend set off in search of a fourth try but the full time whistle followed shortly after.
