Bridgend Ravens were defeated by a powerful and pacey RGC side in their Super Rygbi Cymru Plate Semi Final in Colwyn Bay on Saturday.

The hosts dominated the first half with tries from Sam Williams, Sam Jones and Caio Parry. The excellent Billy McBryde landed three conversions for a comfortable 21 point half time lead.

Bridgend had better moments in the second half but breaks from McCauley Rowley and Morgan Boobyer into the RGC 22 resulted in turnovers.

RGC added two further tries to put the game to bed before Bridgend replacements made an impact late on.

Chris Williams fed quick ball to Rhydian Greenhall who burst through the RGC defence. Greenhall found Tommy Morgan on his shoulder who touched down for Bridgend’s only points of the match.

The home side finished off with a sixth try to down Bridgend 42 points to 5 and secure their spot in the Super Rygbi Cymru Plate final next weekend. Bridgend will look to bounce back with a rearranged league fixture against Pontypool at the Electric Brewery Field on Saturday (2:30pm).
