Team to face Llandovery at Church Bank

Bridgend Ravens face Llandovery at Church Bank on Thursday evening in front of the S4C Clic Cameras in Super Rygbi Cymru (7:30pm).

Scott Baldwin’s side are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Pontypool, where the Gwent side blew away the Ravens in a comprehensive 43pts to 10 victory. The Ravens have made a reasonable start to the season, winning twice (against Carmarthen and Aberavon), with a narrow defeat in the reverse match with the Wizards

Llandovery have made another superb start to the season, winning four of their opening five matches. Their only defeat was last Thursday when they lost out to current league leaders Ebbw Vale 40pts to 22 at Ciner Glass Community Stadium.

Llandovery won the corresponding fixture last season by 28pts to 12, with Bridgend winning the game at the Brewery by 34pts to 33. They also met in the Super Rygbi Cymru Cup – a game that Llandovery won 50pts to 35 at Church Bank.

There are a handful of changes for Thursday’s side with Ben Evans, Luke Price and Harvey Nash coming into a refreshed Bridgend back line.

In the pack, there’s a start for Harry Olding, and Alfie Thomas gets the nod in the back row following a series of impressive performances from the replacements bench. Evan Hil and Dylan Burrows are also fresh faces in the pack as Baldwin selects a versatile pack to do battle with the free flowing home side.
