03 Apr TEAM TO FACE SWANSEA AT BROADACRE

Bridgend Ravens make the trip to Broadacre on Saturday afternoon for an Easter derby with Swansea (2:30pm).

The Ravens have improved significantly lately and will be disappointed not to have more to show for their performances. Last weekend, a late try by McCauley Rowley earned Bridgend a four try bonus point in a 35pts to 20 loss at Newport. The champions outscored Baldwin’s side five tries to four to secure victory with Bridgend rueing poor goal kicking once again.  

Swansea are having a hugely improved campaign of last season which saw them finish bottom of the inaugural Super Rygbi Cymru. Joe Thomas’ side have won 9 of their 16 games to date, sitting in fifth place in the current league standings. 

They were pipped late on last weekend 34pts to 33 at home to league leaders Ebbw Vale. 

Earlier this season, the sides played out an entertaining 29pts all tie at the Electric Brewery Field, with the Whites staging a stunning comeback to earn a share of the spoils. Bridgend led by 12 points with time up, but late tries from Logan Lloyd and Lewis Edwards earned them a draw. 

They also faced off in the Super Rygbi Cymru Cup Group Phase, with Swansea running out 45pts to 29 victors under the Friday night lights at Dunvant.
