02 Jan YARDLEY CONFIRMS RETIREMENT

Bridgend Ravens Hooker, Evan Yardley, has confirmed his retirement from rugby due to injury.

Evan joined the club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and went on to make 60 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 18 tries. The Bridgend Athletic product also played for RGC, Cardiff and Aberavon – along with senior rugby appearances for Cardiff Rugby and Scarlets Premiership Select.

Following confirmation of his retirement, Evan said ‘Unfortunately, my time playing for Bridgend Ravens has come to an end.

I’m incredibly proud to have worn a jersey that has meant so much to me and my family. Sadly, due to an ongoing neck injury, I can’t give the performances the shirt deserves anymore, and I’ve had to put my family and my health first.I’m gutted it’s ended this way, but I’m grateful for every minute, the battles, the laughs, and the chance to play alongside some unbelievable players.’
