As we draw the curtain on a busy 2024, it is my pleasure to write this year’s Christmas message from all of the Bridgend Ravens management.

It has been a year of significant change as the club continues to grow under the management of the members’ club. We were delighted that our application to join Super Rygbi Cymru was accepted with such positive feedback, and we have enjoyed the challenge of building a club and structure to be competitive in the division whilst respecting the core aims of the new league in developing the next generation of talent for the professional game.

The early signs are positive and it has been pleasing to see players such as Tom Florence and Matholwch Iorwerth Scott step up to regional action, whilst giving senior rugby debuts to local youngsters Ben Evans and Rhydian Greenhall; both products of the thriving Bridgend Rugby Pathway. Scott and his coaches are looking forward to continuing building a squad in their mould in the New Year as the season reaches the business end.

Off the field, we continue to press on with our ambitious off field plans for the club to grow into a real community asset and we look forward to sharing further detail about this with you in the New Year. I am pleased to report the launch of the Heritage Wall is progressing well, so please keep your orders coming. We will provide an update of when this will be formally launched and installed in the New Year. It was pleasing to see so many at the Members’ meeting just before Christmas, so thanks to those that attended and contributed to a positive update on matters within the club. We will look to host more of these informal sessions in the coming months so everyone is kept up to date with the latest goings on at the club.
