Bridgend Ravens kick off their 2026/27 Super Rygbi Cymru campaign with a trip to Aberavon on Saturday afternoon (2:30pm).

The Wizards have overhauled their squad as they celebrate their 150th season – including the addition of former Ravens Evan Hill, Corum Nott and Eli Cowan.

Bridgend won three of the four matches between the sides last season, and five of the last seven across the two campaigns since Scott Baldwin took charge. The last time they met was far from a classic in the SRC Wildcard Playoff, with Bridgend winning 13pts to 10, coming back from 10 points down to seal their place in a quarter final with Ebbw Vale.

Baldwin names an experienced side for the first hit out of the new season, and there’s some good news as Ben Evans returns after a serious leg injury sidelined him since November last year, and Ryan Wilkins is back after missing the end of last season.

Elsewhere, Edd Howley is selected at full back, with Mccauley Rowley on one wing and Ryan Conbeer occupying the other berth in the centre. Ben Burnell and Harvey Nash are the half backs.

In the pack, Alex George starts at loosehead, partnered with hooker Corey Lewis and tighthead Callum Donoghue Proud. Cody Ray David and James Richards are in the second row, with a back row of Ioan Davies, Zac O’Driscoll and Benji Williams.
