Bridgend fell to undefeated Cardiff in their Indigo Premiership encounter on Saturday afternoon at the Dunraven Brewery Field.

Reigning champions Cardiff, currently unbeaten in league action this season, ran in seven tries to Bridgend’s one in what was a difficult afternoon for the hosts. Former favourite at the Dunraven Brewery Field Dewi Cross touched down twice in the opening 25 minutes, bookending three penalties from the boot of Luke Price. Bridgend had positive spells throughout but couldn’t find the clinical edge needed for the try their build up play deserved. A single lapse in concentration against a potent Cardiff side was all it took for the Capital side to bag a third. Launching the counter attack from a poor Raven kick saw Rhys Barratt touchdown. Fish sent all three first half conversions wide keeping Bridgend within touching distance but an improved second half performance would be needed from the hosts if they were to claim anything from the game.

A lightning start to the second half by the visitors all but secured victory, as Cardiff added two further tries in the opening seven second half minutes, Ethan Lloyd grabbing the first with Cross securing a hat-trick score shortly after.

Bridgend kept fighting, and whilst the majority of their attacks were repelled, the always impressive Jordan Collier crashed over to give the home support something to cheer. Price added the extras.

Bridgend found themselves in great attacking positions on the back of Cardiff indiscipline multiple times throughout the match, however inaccuracy at critical moments saw Cardiff hold out.

The Visitors added two more scores in the final quarter, adding some gloss to the score, condemning the Ravens to a fifth defeat in six league outings this season.
