Bridgend Ravens battled but ultimately fell to a Second Half Drover fightback, the final quarter seeing the hosts score 22 unanswered points to see the Ravens leave empty handed.

An encouraging first half saw Bridgend head in at the break with a 10 point lead. Jack Maynard opened the scoring with a penalty with just two minutes played. Luke Price Levelled, before nudging Bridgend into the lead with just over 10 minutes on the clock.

The Ravens bagged the first try of the match shortly after. A powerful platform helped get the visitors on the front foot and Luke Price broke away, racing into the 22. Chris Williams stepped over from close range following a big effort from the Bridgend pack to edge towards the line. Price converted. Llandovery hammered away late in the half but Bridgend’s defence stood firm to hold out and head in at the break with a 10 point lead.

The opening 20 minutes of the second half was a tense affair with Bridgend holding out early Llandovery attacks. Jack Maynard added a second penalty with 10 minutes of the half played.

Luke Price was shown yellow for repeated team infringements. The card proved costly with Llandovery levelling the tie whilst Bridgend defended a man short.

Indiscipline was to be the Ravens downfall late in the match. The hosts bagged two tries in the final 5 minutes plus injury time. Nathan Edwards was sent to the bin leaving a gaping hole in the Bridgend defence that the Ravens couldn’t plug late on. Aaron Warren and Joe Powell touched down to kill off any Raven hopes of getting anything from the match.
