25 Jan EUROPEAN RUGBY RETURNS TO THE BREWERY

The Dunraven Brewery Field will play host to the Ospreys vs Sale Sharks in a mouth-watering EPCR Challenge Cup Last 16 tie in April. 

The Ospreys secured a home last 16 tie with a 38pts to 28 victory against Emirates Lions in Johannesburg and will take on England’s Sale Sharks in the first knockout round on Saturday 6th April at 8pm at the home of Bridgend Ravens.

It’s set to be another landmark occasion for the historic ground, and the fixture is the first top flight European rugby match to be held at the venue since Celtic Warriors beat Perpignan 16pts to 15 in January 2004. No stranger to hosting big events, the ground also saw UEFA Europa Conference League football played at the stadium in July of last year with Penybont drawing 1-1 with Santa Coloma. The Ospreys have recently played at a sold out Dunraven Brewery Field in an entertaining New Year’s Day victory over Cardiff Rugby in the URC earlier this month.

There’ll be entertainment aplenty at ‘Brewery Fest’ with a festival atmosphere, live entertainment, a wide selection of the finest food and drinks to accompany the excitement of knock out rugby on the field.

Bridgend Ravens Club Chairman, Norman Spain, was delighted that the region have once again chosen the Dunraven Brewery Field as their venue for such a big occasion “Following the success of New Year’s Day and the sell-out crowd at the Dunraven Brewery Field, we are pleased that the Ospreys will be returning to the ground to host another high profile fixture and look forward to welcoming them in April.

It has been just over 20 years since we last hosted a top flight European match and we are very excited to be chosen to host what is sure to be a special evening”.
