Bridgend Ravens can confirm that Head Coach Tom Smith has departed the club.

Smith took charge of Bridgend Ravens in Summer 2022, leading Bridgend to an eighth place finish in his first season at the helm, finishing ninth in season 2023/24.

Bridgend Ravens Chairman, Norman Spain, commented ‘Everyone at Bridgend Ravens would like to thank Tom for his commitment to the club throughout his time in charge. There were some particularly memorable moments from his tenure, including our remarkable home run at the end of 2022/23 and notable away successes such as our first ever win in RGC, first win in Carmarthen in ten years and last gasp win at Swansea at the start of last season. 

However, following our end of season review at the conclusion of the season we felt that the time was right to make a change with the fresh start of the Super Rygbi Cymru tournament.’

All at the club would like to thank Tom for his efforts whilst in charge at the club, including the key role he played in assisting the club in their successful application for a place in the Super Rygbi Cymru competition which kicks off in September.

An announcement regarding the new coaching team will be made in due course.
