27 Jun WILKINS THE LATEST TO JOIN BRIDGEND RAVENS

Bridgend Ravens are pleased to announce the signing of talented centre Ryan Wilkins from Pontypridd RFC. 

This signing of Wilkins further strengthens the options in Bridgend’s backline ahead of the Super Rygbi Cymru campaign. Ryan joins his former Pontypridd team mates Ben Burnell and Harvey Nash in joining Scott Baldwin’s side for next season.

A product of Pontyclun’s Mini and Junior section, Ryan was picked up by the Cardiff Rugby Academy System, representing the capital side at u16s, u18s and Academy level. He was also selected for two senior appearances for the professional arm of the Arms Park club.

Wilkins, known for his agility and robust defensive skills, was a standout player for Pontypridd during his only season with Pontypridd in the Indigo Premiership last season. He made 19 appearances for Ponty during that time, scoring nine times.

The 21-year-old centre expressed his excitement about joining the Ravens, stating, “I’m really excited to head down to the Dunraven Brewery Field and get stuck in with Bridgend this season.

It’s an exciting new challenge for me, a new group of players and staff and hopefully we can have a successful first season in Super Rygbi Cymru.”

Head Coach Scott Baldwin commented on the new signing, “Ryan is a dynamic player with great vision and versatility. He comes to us on the back of a really impressive season with Pontypridd and following some years in and around professional rugby environments. 

His addition to the squad will provide us with something different and we’re looking forward to seeing how he goes in blue and white.”
