22 Nov Team to face Carmarthen at the Brewery

Bridgend Ravens are back in Super Rygbi Cymru action when Carmarthen Quins visit the Dunraven Brewery Field on Friday evening (7:30pm).

After a promising first block of fixtures, Scott Baldwin’s side are preparing for a busy set of fixtures as the Super Rygbi competition resumes with the Quins visiting Bridgend territory first up.

The Ravens have three wins to date – two against Swansea and a success at Talbot Athletic Ground whilst picking up points in half of their remaining fixtures. They currently sit in sixth place in the early league standings.

Quins also have three wins so far this season, including a hugely impressive home win against current table toppers Cardiff. They have also beaten Swansea and Pontypool, all at Carmarthen Park and are just one place below in seventh.

Last season, it was a win apiece when the sides went head to head in Premiership action. Bridgend won 22-11 at Carmarthen Park before Carmarthen avenged that defeat with a 11pts to 16 win in Bridgend.

There’s some welcome team news for Scott Baldwin’s side this Friday on the injury front with both Jake Thomas and Ben Burnell returning from knocks to take their place in the starting lineup.

There are also some new faces, hooker Tyler Olding features on permit from Newport and tighthead prop Eli Cowan is set for a debut, should he appear from the replacements bench. Cowan is a product of the Kenfig Hill pathway and is on permit from the Ospreys Academy.
