Team to face Pontypool at the Brewery

Bridgend Ravens are back in Super Rygbi Cymru action on Saturday when Pontypool visit the Electric Brewery Field (2:30pm).

Both sides were in semi final action last weekend – Bridgend facing a humbling at Stadiwm Eirias by 42pts to 5 and Pontypool missing out on a place in Saturday’s showpiece cup final with a last kick defeat at Church Bank to Llandovery, by 26pts to 24.

The sides have met once already this season, with Pooler picking up a comfortable 43pts to 10 win at Pontypool Park against the Ravens in October. Bridgend are currently just 2 points ahead of the Gwent side in the current league standings as we head into the business end of the campaign.

Scott Baldwin largely sticks with the squad which featured in Saturday’s game in North Wales, with Joseph Gatt moving to the wing and Tom Florence and Tommy Morgan selected in midfield. Those changes mean that Ben Burnell moves to 10.

In the pack, Corey Lewis comes in at hooker with Will Greatbanks selected in the second row. Kyle Harris replaces Morgan Boobyer at 7 in the only other change.

With injuries in the core squad, Bridgend call upon a permit from Narberth for Tom Richardson and McKenzie Scales, a Tondu product from the Ospreys Academy both featuring on the replacements bench. New signing Danny Perry from Beddau will be hoping to make his debut.
