26 Jun Ravens Celebrate 2025/26 at Annual Awards Evening
Players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters came together at the JPR Suite at the Electric Brewery Field for the Bridgend Ravens Awards Evening 2026, celebrating the 2025/26 season.
The evening commenced with an address from outgoing Chairman Norman Spain, reflecting on the club’s achievements and thanking those who have contributed to the Ravens’ continued progress.
Following a two-course dinner, incoming Chairman Tony Williams presented service caps to Norman Spain and Gareth Thomas Davies in recognition of their longstanding dedication and outstanding service to Bridgend Ravens.
On the awards front, Thomas Jevons was the standout winner of the evening, collecting both the Players’ Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year awards following an impressive campaign, , while Fraser Jones was named Most Improved Player.
The prestigious Derrick King Clubman Award was presented to Peter Wood in recognition of his tireless efforts in helping restore the clubhouse as a true rugby club environment through the sourcing and installation of historic club memorabilia.
Andrew Oglesbee received the Volunteer Special Recognition Award for his invaluable contribution to the club throughout the season.
The evening also recognised a number of players who reached significant appearance milestones during the season, with the traditional presentation of appearance awards.
Proceedings concluded with an entertaining and insightful Q&A session featuring current Wales Head Coach Steve Tandy and former Bridgend and Wales back-row forward Gavin Thomas, expertly hosted by Wayne Barrington.
