07 Jul BRIDGEND RAVENS SIGN PHIL PRICE
Bridgend Ravens are pleased to announce the signing of prop forward Phil Price, who joins the club as Player/Assistant Coach ahead of the new campaign.
Price, 34, is no stranger to Bridgend Ravens supporters having started his senior rugby career at the Ravens in 2007. He made 20 appearances for the club whilst attached to the Ospreys Academy setup. During his early career, Price was capped by Wales at age grade level; representing his country at Under 18 and Under 19 level. He left the Swansea based side in 2009 to join up with the Dragons where he made over 150 appearances for the region over a nine year period with the Gwent side.
He moved to the Scarlets in 2018, initially on loan before making the move permanent in 2020, he went on to appear 69 times for the West Walians and will now join Tom Smith’s backroom staff and combine his coaching with a playing role with the club.
After putting pen to paper to secure a return home, Phil commented “I am extremely excited to be back at Bridgend and I’m looking forward to getting started with the lads in pre-season.
I would like to thank the coaches for giving me the chance to come back and play at my home club and I can’t wait to run out at the Brewery again.”
Bridgend Ravens Head Coach, Tom Smith, was delighted to have secured the services of the experienced Price, “The signing of Phil is a real coup for us. He has vast experience with nearly 200 appearances at professional level which will be invaluable for our squad as we look to kick on from a successful second half of last season. We are pleased he has chosen to come back to where it all started and look forward to him bringing his knowledge and experience to the camp.”
